In the fall of 2020 two separate salons, JKL and Via Veneto, moved across town and combined together in the same creative space to form a new entity. We are calling our united salons: Merge Hair Studio. We are now more centrally located in Baton Rouge at the intersection of Essen and Perkins Road. Our new tranquil locaton is nestled among towering trees and winding wooden walkways. We invite you to come check out the changes we have made and meet our enthusiastic staff. The proud legacies of our two salons have seamlessly joined and we are excited about our commited team of stylists. Our Merge family looks forward to meeting new faces as we continue to serve our long-time clients who are like family to us. Come join us - the future is bright!
JKL Salon
JKL Salon was founded in 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ken and Janie LaPrairie. Their editorial work has been in constant demand for trade and consumer publications worldwide over the years. They are both highly trained educators, platform artists as well as members of Intercoiffure America, TSA and NCA.
Salon Today magazine recognized JKL as one of the top 200 fastest growing salons in the U.S. For 5 consecutive years for their achievements, leadership and attributes to the salon industry.
The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) nominated Janie and Ken six times in the academy awards of hairstyling and crowned them with 2 wins for their award-winning talent and designs in long hairdressing, color, makeover and multi-cultural.
With decades of experience, the LaPrairie’s continue to further their mission of raising the standards of the industry. They are committed to excellence and focused on training future professionals as the leaders of tomorrow.
In September of 2020, JKL Salon moved to a new location on Perkin's Road in Baton Rouge. They were joined by Via Veneto Salon to collectively form Merge Hair Studio.

Beauty industry veterans Nona Robillard and Kim Callais have always had a special vision for the industry. In 1997, the city joined them in celebrating the opening of their salon– Via Veneto – in the heart of Baton Rouge.
Via Veneto Salon continues to set the standard for high-quality service and creativity, while bringing the latest beauty trends to the Southern market.
